A-Me working on set

Above is two pictures of me on set with sound equipment, my job was to listen to the sound that was going on during recording and listen to see if there was any unwanted sound like cars and planes going past as that could have an impact on the recording but luckily there was no unwanted sounds that went past. At first there was someone holding the boom pole for me but towards the end of the recording session I held the boom pole.

B- Following the Storyboard

Above is the pictures of the clock from the footage and the storyboard and maybe the times is not right but that is the only bad thing with it but we still did use a clock in the short film.

Above is the pictures from the footage and the storyboard of the radio that was used in the short film, however the picture of the storyboard of the radio is not the same as the radio from the actual footage as at the time of the storyboard being made we had not had access to the radio.

Above is the pictures of the actor on their phone on the storyboard and from the footage but with this one the picture of the storyboard is the same as the screenshot from the footage.

C- Safe Working Practises

Above is the picture of me working on the computer editing the rough cut of the short film. I made sure the chair was at the right hight so my back did not ache and I also made sure the screen was easy to see. Also I made sure I took 5 minute breaks every lesson which could range from an hour and a half to 2 hours.

Above are pictures of the stanley knife with and without a blade and we used a knife without a blade in some scenes because of healthy and safety issues as we did not want an actual accident happenign on set.

D- Production processes

File Structure

Above are pictures of my files and the way I had to go to get to the footage and sound clips, I also showed the exported version of my rough cut as a quicktime video, the recordings that I am showing how to get to are the main ones I used and those are the recordings from the garage and the recordings from the SFX shooting and also extra shots we had to do after the main shooting in the garage because we needed them for editing. However there is no audio for the SFX recording as it did not record. I found it quite easy to get to each folder and all the shots that I needed and all the documents as they were all clearly labelled in the correct files and this helped me get my work done as quick as possible.

Premiere editing

Above are some screenshots of the footage being put together in Adobe Premiere by myself, the green blocks that can be seen is sounds that were taken to make the film work better, some sounds that I used were things like an Iphone ringtone, a non copyright christmas song of youtube and some certain audio from the footage would not fit other footage so I had to use the audio I recorded in some places. I used some affects and transitions in the short film such as push, slide and cross to make the clock part of the film work better and I also had to mute certain audio because there was certain sounds that were not good enough as there was a lo of background noise however that was the audio from the footage and the audio that was muted was when the clock came up.

The two pictures above is the final timeline of my short film and you can clearly see the audio that I added and the video affects and transitions that were added as well.

Improvements that were made after feedback

It was decided that the  clock shots did not really work as it made the sequence feel a bit slow and also the shot of the cut finger went on for too long. To improve this we cut to the radio and the dropped phone to build tension in the sequence.

Final Cut

Below is the link of the final cut that was made for the group.
